Opportunities for Green Logistics in Eastern Europe

05 March, 2015 - 06 March, 2015 17:00

EBRD Truck

Objective

In the context of increasing cost pressure and attention to sustainable growth paths, Green Logistics is now recognized as a key driver of competitiveness in consolidated logistics markets. However Green Logistics principles are still rarely applied in Eastern Europe, where the demand for freight and logistics is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. Green Logistics will constitute an opportunity for cost reduction and differentiation from competitors in the region.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is organising a regional workshop to take stock of best practices and approaches towards efficient logistics and green freight. The event aims to provide a platform for the exploration of the multiple initiatives and promote peer learning and exchanges among key stakeholders active in freight and logistics.

Target participants

The event will gather companies operating in the freight transport and logistics sector in Western and Eastern Europe, together with shippers and sector organizations.
